Video-based communications company
has announced support for Indian Rupee on its platform. This will allow Zoom users in India to buy preferred plans and add-ons in local currency.
According to the company, the move will allow Zoom “to expand its footprint and reach a bigger audience”. “The announcement represents Zoom’s growing strategic investment and plans to grow in the country, where the company already has one office in Mumbai, two data centers in Mumbai and Hyderabad and an upcoming technology center in Bengaluru,” the company further added.
Post this announcement, Zoom users can choose India as the billing and can pay using the credit card option for purchase in Indian currency. Initially, users will be limited from seeing or buying Zoom Phone SKU in the purchase flow made via web browsers.
Recently, Zoom announced new features to its platform to make communication more accessible. The video-calling app now supports multi-pin features. This feature allows viewers to keep multiple videos in place. It will be usable by host and co-host who can also grant permissions for up to nine people in the meeting to pin multiple videos. Zoom has also got the multi-spotlight feature, which works similar to the multi-pin feature, except the spotlighted videos show up for everyone in the meeting. Using this feature, the host or co-host can spotlight up to nine videos so that everyone sees the same spotlighted videos.
Another new feature that has been rolled out to Zoom is the support for rearrangement in gallery view. Zoom gives its users an option to drag and drop videos into your own custom order.
