Xiaomi teases Mi Band 5, to sport bigger display and support magnetic charging

Mi Band 5

, on June 11. The company has been teasing the fitness device. In a latest post on Chinese website Weibo, Xiaomi has teased several new features of the upcoming Mi Band 5.
The teaser reveals that Mi Band 5's OLED display will be larger vis-a-vis the current-generation Mi Band. Another feature that the post reveals is magnetic charging. This means that users will get magnetic charger with the device. It will allow them to charge it without actually removing the tracker from the strap. So far, company's fitness bands come with USB charging and require users to take out the tracker from the strap to charge it.
The other features of Mi Band 5 that Xiaomi showed include "upgraded sensors," women's health tracking, eleven professional sports modes, NFC support, Amazon digital assistant


support and remote camera control functionality. The upgraded sensors are for heart rate and sleep monitoring. The fitness tracker will monitor as many as 11 physical activities. This includes Yoga and indoor bicycling, bringing the total number of different activities tracked to 11.
However, it is nit clear if the global variant of the device too will come with NFC and Amazon Alexa support.
Some previous reports claim that Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will work as a remote shutter for users smartphone cameras. Another rumour also claims that it will be able to measure users' oxygen saturation level. This feature is is also widely speculated for

Series 6 this year. It measures how a person's blood is being sent to his or her body's extremities.
As for colour options, the Mi Band 5 will be available in four colors -- Red, Black, Green and Yellow.
Xiaomi is launching Mi Band 5 in China on June 11. The fitness band is one of the products from the Chinese company that is sold in the US. So far there are no details available about its India launch.
