JAMMU: A 40-year-old woman was injured on
violated the ceasefire by resorting to shelling and firing on forward posts and civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in three sectors of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
This comes barely four days after a junior commissioned officer of Indian Army was killed in a similar breach of truce by

Jammu-based defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Around 5.30 pm, Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms along the LoC in
, Kirni and Qasba sectors of Poonch. Our troops retaliated befittingly,” he said.
Poonch SSP Ramesh Angral said during the shelling by Pakistan, Hamida Bi, a resident of Bandi Chechian village in Qasba sector was injured by splinters. “The injured woman was immediately evacuated and hospitalised,” he said.
On September 18, a 35 year-old woman, Mehaz Akhter of Dharati area of Balakote sector in Mendhar sub-division was injured in shelling when Pakistan resorted to firing on forward posts and civilian areas along the LoC.
