Instant messaging platform
is working on adding a new filter for users to search their messages, according to a report by WABetaInfo. As per the report, the app will soon allow users to search for messages by date.
As per the report, the
is currently in the “alpha” stage of development and therefore doesn’t come with any tentative release date and “might change its appearance before the release.”
When the ‘search by date’ feature will be rolled out, users will see a calendar icon appear whenever they use the currently available in-chat search feature. The report from WABetaInfo, the website that tracks all the upcoming changes and features on the Facebook-owned app, even includes screenshots to show how it may appear on iOS users.
From the screenshots, it can be seen that the calendar icon will appear on the top of the keyboard, tapping on which app will allow its users to select a date. The report also specifies that even though the screenshots are of iOS, the ‘search by date’ is expected to be rolled out to
