JAMMU: J&K Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday visited the
of three Rajouri youths, who were killed at Amshipora in Shopian in a fake encounter on July 18, and assured them of justice.
“Law will play its role and justice will be delivered,” Sinha told the families of
(18), who had gone to Shopian to work as labourers but were killed.
Expressing his condolences, Sinha said the UT government will extend full support to the families. He also conveyed the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the government stands with the aggrieved families and that they will be taken care of.
Sinha, who was on a visit to Rajouri district to join Phase-3 of the government’s much-publicised programme ‘Back to
’, walked to Tarkassi village to meet the families.
The LG gave a patient hearing to the demands of the families, including justice for the victims and compensation as the deceased were the lone breadwinners, and assured them that the government will do everything possible.
