Prince William turns 38 today, and as a father of three, it’s Father’s Day for him, too. In celebration of the two coinciding events, Kensington Palace has released a series of new portraits to mark the celebratory day.
The first image, which was taken by wife Kate Middleton earlier this month, features Prince William sharing a seat on a swing with the couple’s three adorable children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The photos were taken at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been staying during the coronavirus lockdown. Two other images showcase Prince William playfully being tackled by his three children on the lawn.
In honor of Father’s Day, the Palace also released a new image of Prince William with his father, Prince Charles, which was taken in Sandringham in December 2019 (that image was also taken by Middleton, who has long had a penchant for photography). A second throwback image also showcases Middleton as a child with her father, Michael Middleton.
The Duke and Duchess's new family portrait, in particular, offers a glimpse of the royal couple’s time at home. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the pair have also been visiting non-essential businesses to learn about how they have been impacted, as well as how they plan to re-open. Middleton recently visited the Fakenham Garden Centre, while Prince William visited Smiths the Bakers in King’s Lynn.
