is expected to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone —
Galaxy Fold 2
at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Rumours also suggest that the company will have a virtual launch event on August 5.
Now a new rumour about the
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2
has surfaced online. As per the latest leak, the Samsung
2 is said to come with a 7.7-inch display inside with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.23-inch display on the outside. This will be the first foldable smartphone of the company which will have a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The company is expected to use the same thin glass material on the device which is used on the Galaxy Z Flip.
As compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy
is said to be 0.4-inches bigger on the inside and 1.63-inches bigger on the outside.
Some earlier leaks also suggest that the device might incorporate an in-display camera. It is also expected that Samsung will also upgrade the outer display of the smartphone. The company is expected to include an Infinity V display with a triangular notch instead of the boxed-in tiny display of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
A recent report also revealed that Samsung has placed bulk orders for the components required for mass production with the major suppliers. So, this means that the smartphone will launch in August along with the Galaxy Note 20 series.
It is also said that along with the Galaxy Note 20 series Samsung might also launch the 5G variant of its other foldable smartphone — Galaxy Z Flip.
