NEW DELHI: South Korean tech giant
is expected to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone — Galaxy Fold 2 in August this year along with the Note 20 series. Now a new report has surfaced online revealing that the upcoming smartphone will not come with S Pen stylus support.
According to a report by Sammobile, the company might not incorporate S Pen support in the
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2
. The report adds that the company decided to do so due to some technical limitations. Samsung is planning to incorporate UTG display in the Galaxy Fold 2 and the S Pen is not suitable for use on this kind of display.
A recent online report revealed that Samsung has started the mass production of Galaxy Fold 2. The report revealed that Samsung has placed bulk orders for the components required for mass production with the major suppliers. This reaffirms that the company will launch the smartphone in August at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 might come with a 7.7-inch display with 120Hz of refresh rate. Some earlier leaks also suggest that the device might incorporate an in-display camera. It is also expected that Samsung will also upgrade the outer display of the smartphone. The company is expected to include an Infinity V display with a triangular notch instead of the boxed-in tiny display of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
This year it is expected that Samsung will organise an online-only launch event for the Galaxy Note 20 series. The company might skip the physical event and will organise a virtual Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event. The company is planning to do so due to the ongoing pandemic situation in the world. It is also expected that the company might launch the 5G variant of its Galaxy Flip smartphone at the event.
