PM to hold talks with guvs, LGs over Covid spike

NEW DELHI: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with governors of various states and LGs of Union Territories on Wednesday about the latest surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.
The interaction will be the first meeting of this kind during the pandemic. The development comes days after Modi, in a virtual meeting with chief ministers, had called for involvement of governors in handling the pandemic and also of personalities from different fields to push compliance with Covid-appropriate behaviour and pandemic management guidelines, including providing vaccination to the eligible. While interacting with state chief ministers, the PM had suggested that the offices of governors should be involved in the fight against the pandemic, which will help the chief ministers. TNN
