NEW DELHI:

The Supreme Court

on Thursday dismissed a

PIL

seeking a

probe

into questions such as why permission for the ‘Namaste Trump’ event was given, the PM “unilaterally” announcing a lockdown and reasons for the

government

not being prepared to procure more PPEs.

Prashant Bhushan

arguing for the PIL alleged that the government ignored WHO warning and its own guidelines on crowd gathering for the event in Gujarat. A bench of Justices L N Rao and Ajay Rastogi dismissed the petition saying, “This is a matter for public debate and not for the court to inquire into.”
