SRINAGAR: J&K Police on Thursday stopped several functionaries of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from leaving their residences to attend a party meeting, which was scheduled at 11am at their

party headquarters

here.
According to a party source, district-level functionaries were also supposed to participate in the meet but they too were kept under “house arrest”.
The meeting was called to discuss the prevailing political situation and general party affairs.
Various party functionaries expressed their resentment against the government and took to social media against this move.
“Nothing can be more pathetic to see Ex. MLA Shopian AR Rather not being allowed to move out, to attend leaders meeting scheduled today, even after being in detention for more than 13 months now,” tweeted Rather.
“Why are we the only party that is not being allowed to meet? Why only our leaders are under house detention? Why PSA is extended only against our leader

Mehbooba

(Mufti) ji,” he asked in another tweet.
