Japanese tech company
has announced the expansion of its rugged
portfolio in India with the launch of
CF-SV8. The all-new Panasonic
is designed to function across extreme conditions, claims the company. Priced at Rs 1,50,000 plus taxes, it is available via direct sales channels of Panasonic.
Toughbook CF-SV8 weighs about 919 grams and uses a 5900mAh 7.2 V lithium-ion battery. Panasonic claims that it can survive drops up to 2.5 feet and can withstand 100KG force pressure. The notebook offers four-year warranty and one-year warranty on battery.
The device is equipped with 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8365U vPro processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD for internal storage. It features a 12.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. The Toughbook CF-SV8 comes pre-installed with the latest Windows 10 Pro operating system.
Additionally, it comes with a USB 3.1 Type-C port that is compatible with Thunderbolt 3*4 and USB Power Delivery. Intel Wireless-AC 9560 LAN and Bluetooth v5.0 are included for faster data transfer. The Panasonic Toughbook CF-SV8 also has Japanese language option on the keyboard. The high sound stereo speakers provide an unobtrusive sound experience even during web conferencing.
Toughbook CF-SV8 has a FullHD 2MP facial recognition web-camera allowing only those who have pre-registered their faces to log in, preventing others from using the computer. According to the company, the BIOS password prevents unauthorised use before the system boots, and an encryption key--TPM (security chip)-- for ensuring that the data stored on the notebook cannot be accessed in case stolen.
