For the last couple of weeks, there have been reports that
— the BBK-owned smartphone brand — is going to launch a budget device for the first time. However it seems it could be closer to being a new smartphone series rather than just a single device.
Last week, there were reports about a handset that was codenamed ‘Clover’ and now as per a report by Android Central, there are rumours about more handsets that are codenamed ‘Lemonade’, ‘Bengal’ and ‘Billie’ codenames.
While the ‘Billie’ is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 690 SoC, there is no word on the expected processor for ‘Lemonade’ and ‘Bengal.’ This is not the first time a OnePlus handset with Snapdragon 690 SoC has been alleged. Back in July, a report by XDA Developers claimed that there is evidence that OnePlus is working on launching “at least” one smartphone that is going to come powered by Qualcomm’s new 5G Snapdragon 690 processor.
Quite recently, it was also reported that OnePlus is working on releasing a handset with Snapdragon 662 or 665 SoC as well that is likely to be priced between Rs 16,000-Rs 18,000.
Along with the codenames of multiple and potential budget handsets form
, the report by Android Central also suggests the codename for the next flagship smartphone and successor to the
— has also come to light which is claimed to be ‘Kebab.’
Just this week, it was reported that the company has given a first glimpse to the upcoming OnePlus 8T handset in the latest Android 11 developer preview when an image of the OnePlus 8T has been spotted on the Oxygen Updated Blog.
On the basis of this image, it can be seen that the handset may offer a flat display with a single punch-hole camera. The image also shows that the device houses the earpiece speaker on the top edge, volume buttons on the left, the power button and the Alert Slider on the right.
