RAIPUR: Communist Party of India (Maoist) has described reports of top Maoist leader Muppala Laxama Rao aka

Ganapathy

’s surrender as a “brutal lie and propaganda” unleashed by Modi government to divert peoples’ attention from the

economic recession

and its multiple failures.
In a statement, CPI (Maoist) central committee spokesman Abhay said such a

propaganda

was planned by Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and NSA Ajit Doval, Home ministry advisor Vijay Kumar and intelligence agencies after they failed to find solutions to national problems and also realized that it has failed in many of its plans, including finishing off Maoist party by 2022.
Maoist reaction on the reports of Ganapathy surrender after media reports from Telangana and Chhattisgarh claimed that the 74 year old former general secretary was planning to surrender due to ill-health and was in negotiations with Telangana’s ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Some media reports had also claimed that the Maoist leader had left for Telangana from his hideout in Abujmarh forests in Chhattisgarh.
“ The entire Indian economy is in the grip of severe economic recession under the fascist leadership”, the statement said the Modi government has failed in dealing with issues like Kashmir and Nagaland and did nothing except deploy Army.
Condemning the ‘Propaganda’ of Maoist leader’s surrender, The Maoist central committee said the government has jailed a number of persons branding them as urban Maoists. It said all these efforts and propaganda is to divert attention as the government is facing the wrath of people domestically and internationally. “ The war monger and saffron gang has utterly failed in dealing with neighbouring countries”, the Maoists said.
The central committee spokesman said Comrade Ganapathy had voluntarily taken the decision to quit the party’s General Secretary post two years ago due to age and common ailments. It is a common thing in everybody’s life.
Despite all these efforts, propaganda and attempts to suppress the voice of people, the Maoist spokesman said the party is gaining strength in Telangana and neighbouring states. “ We are declaring that, we shall continue the fight against the ruling classes, under the leadership of our central committee with strong determination until the success of the revolution”, the statement said.
