. The consumers can get insurance of up to Rs 50,000 on purchase of select home appliance products. The offer will be available across stores and is valid till June 30, 2020.
The COVID insurance benefits are available in three slabs, worth Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, and Rs 10,000 respectively and are available on purchase of air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators and all appliances from LG Electronics.
Commenting on the initiative, Vijay Babu, VP, home appliances, LG Electronics India, said, “Our innovative technologies in the home appliances range offer various features that help to keep products fresh and maintain bacteria-free healthy life. By offering COVID-19 insurance through the purchase of our home appliance products, we aim to provide a meaningful integration to consumers.”
In other news, the LG Velvet phone is reportedly set to get a 4G variant soon. According to a report by GizmoChina, the LG Velvet 4G variant has been spotted by a Persian tech website that says that the handset will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is a two year old chipset.
As per the report, the handset is said to be 20% cheaper than the 5G variant of the handset that was launched at 8,99,800 won (US$ 734 / Rs 55,780). The GizmoChina report also says that the handset sports model number LM-G910 on Geekbench platform.
According to the Geekbench listing, the LM-G910 smartphone offers 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with UFS 2.1 storage. Bluetooth connectivity is listed at version 5.0. The listing also reveals that the upcoming handset will run Android 10.0 out of the box. As for scores, the handset has 440 and 2090 on single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench.
There is no official word from LG on the presence of the handset so we will have to wait to see which all specs are common between this handset and its 5G counterpart.
