BJP MP from the region, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, tweeted a link of the leaked audio conversation between councillor

Zakir Hussain

and his friend along with statements from the Congress party and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC).
"(The) real face of traitor & anti-national ideology of Congress Party can be judged through its elected Councillor of Congress Party in Kargil through this link," Namgyal tweeted along with a Youtube link of the leaked audio clip between councillor Zakir Hussain and his friend.
Earlier, the Congress party issued a statement condemning the contents of the conversation and adding that it was a private call and not the official stand of the party.
"The Congress party strongly condemns the content of the conversation," the Congress said in its statement.
A similar statement was also issued by LAHDC. "People of Kargil have a long history of standing behind to defend the nation and stand with the Indian Army during the toughest times. We reiterate our unflinching loyalty to the nation," the council said in the statement.
