NEW DELHI: Despite the constraints imposed by Covid-19,
around the world held virtual
sessions to mark the
International Yoga Day
Yoga events were held in the US, China, the UK, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Germany, Nepal and several other countries to celebrate the occasion.
In Washington, Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu joined the embassy officials and other personalities including several Hollywood stars to celebrate the Yoga Day at a virtual event.
In Canada, high commissioner
joined members of Canada’s Parliament for a special yoga session.
The Indian consulate in Munich also held online celebrations of Yoga in which Bollywood star Ameesha Patel participated. Consul General Mohit Yadav had earlier tweeted a video by Patel saying Yoga connected people of India and Germany more than ever before.
The Indian mission in Islamabad too observed International Yoga Day.
"Members of the
renewed their commitment to make #Yoga a part of their daily lives by getting together to celebrate the #Internationalyogaday2020," said the Indian high commission in a tweet.
