Govt dismisses rumours of total lockdown in Delhi from June 18

NEW DELHI: The

Press Information Bureau

(PIB) on Sunday dismissed some

social media rumours

claiming that there would be a "strict

lockdown

" in Delhi-NCR from June 18 for four weeks.
In a tweet, the PIB, through its FaceCheck

Twitter

handle, said the post was fake and that there was no such plan under consideration. The PIB added, "beware of rumour mongers".

The PIB shared a

Facebook

post going viral which claimed that the lockdown from June 18 was going to be very strict and that there will be President's rule in Delhi.
The Centre on May 30 eased the lockdown restrictions across the country. The lockdown 5.0 has been extended in the containment zones with several relaxations to reopen the economy.
