NEW DELHI: Tech giant
is busy rolling out new features and updates to its video calling app
in order to give tough competition to its
rival app Zoom
. Now a new report has revealed that the company is allowing Google Duo to send invite links on mobile. With this new feature onboard, the app will give competition to Zoom and other video conferencing apps in the market.
As reported by Android Police, the new feature will allow the video call host to send an invite to other members by just sending them a link. In order to access the link the user just has to add one person to the group call. The feature is available for mobile app users now. The app version 89 and 91 got a server-side update which enabled users to access this new feature on the mobile app.
In order to use this new feature, users will first have to add at least one person in the app. Once done they just have to go on to click on the copy icon. Now users will be able to send the link to any person over other platforms as well. On the other hand, the receiver just has to click on the link to access the video call. After clicking on the link the user will be redirected to the Google Duo app.
Along with this, the app will also allow users to invite a person during the call. In order to allow a person to join the video call midway users within the call can click on the three dots placed on the bottom right corner of the screen and then tap on the share link button.
Recently, Google introduced the new family made in its Google Duo app. Using this new feature users will be able to doodle on video calls for everyone to see and also surprise them with fun effects and masks that transform you into astronauts, cats, and more. To use this fun feature, users just have to start a video call, tap the menu icon, and then tap Family to get started. This new family mode is available when signed into Duo with your Google account.
