NEW DELHI: Former
Param Bir Singh
on Thursday filed a petition in Bombay High Court challenging his transfer from the top post.
The former commissioner has also sought a CBI inquiry against Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh into alleged corrupt malpractices.
Singh was moved out as Mumbai Police Commissioner in wake of the Antilia bomb scare case and had challenged the state government's order to transfer him from the top post.
Following his ouster, Singh filed a petition in the Supreme Court on March 22 claiming that state home minister Anil Deshmukh "pressurised" him to probe and implicate certain BJP leaders in MP Mohan Delkar's death case.
However, the SC on Wednesday told Singh to first plead his case in the high court, following which Singh approached the HC today.
Hearing Singh's petition, the apex court had aslo said that the allegations levelled against Deshmukh are "very serious".
