NEW DELHI: Social networking giant

is all set to return with its annual developer conference. Facebook's

annual developer conference will be held this year as a one-day

virtual event

. The company has scheduled the conference for June 2.
Last year, the company cancelled the F8 conference during the concerns over coronavirus. In an official blog post, Facebook’s VP of platform partnerships, Konstantinos Papamiltiadis, said, "we want to bring F8 back to its roots: a place to celebrate, inspire and help developers grow. We’re excited to introduce a new event format, F8 Refresh. Our virtual stage will be open to developers across the world and live streamed on our Facebook for Developers page on June 2nd."
"We’ll feature the latest product tools to help you build across our family of apps, as well as technical deep-dive sessions, demos, and panels – all with the goal of enabling your growth", added Papamiltiadis.
A Facebook spokesperson told The Verge that this year the conference will not see Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on stage. Instead Papamiltiadis will deliver the opening presentation.
Recently, Facebook announced that it is planning to expand the means through which content creators will be able to post ads on its platform, which essentially means users are going to see a lot more ads.
In a blog post, Yoav Arnstein, director, Facebook App Monetization said that Facebook is now going to allow content creators to earn revenue through Stories.
