NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court is likely to examine later this week a plea seeking a CBI probe into
between Congress leader
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
co-founder Rana Kapoor. The plea has sought a detailed inquiry into the allegations that Vadra sold a painting for Rs 2 crore to Kapoor even though it belonged to the Congress party.
Filed by Akhil Bhartiya Shanti Pratishthan, the petition claims connivance between Priyanka and Rana, alleging that the sale was done “and executed in a pre-planned manner for generating black money under the shade of painting purchase of late PM Rajiv Gandhi, that Priyanka sold as a proprietor which is the first part of illegally and conspiracy.”
The plea argues that the painting was dedicated to Congress party which was the sole proprietor of that asset, but Vadra sold it for Rs 2 crore with Kapoor’s connivance. It also seeks further probe to find out if the PMO has any record of such a gift to Rajiv Gandhi by M F Hussain and if Priyanka Gandhi was authorized to sell it even if she is a legal heir.”
