on Monday conducted its inaugural session of the 5-day online workshop on ‘Essential Skills for Research
The session was a rich learning experience packed with information from speakers from various fields of academics.

Speakers for today's webinar included Dr Sanjay Kataria (Librarian & Workshop Director), Dr Raghunath K Shevgaonkar (VC), Dr Rama Komaragiri (Dean Academics) and
Dr Kataria gave a brief about the importance of the field of research,
methodologies and said that the 5-day webinar session will be based around tools and technologies available for research, research assessment, research metrics, research database management and emerging trends.
While talking about the importance of quality of research at a university level, Dr Agarwal stressed on the fact that the faculty handling the research department should allow themselves to explore associated areas of field in which they have done their PhD and help the students doing research under them to understand the quality and methods of proper research by finding a problem, attacking the problem and finding solutions.
“Research has to be done at a level that our dependency on a foreign country reduces greatly," Dr Agarwal said.
The session also focused on how to improve the quality of research papers.
According to Dr Agarwal, the quality, coherency, language, and various details about research should be focused and completed with in-depth knowledge as publishing is the final process but building any research which is of high quality should be the motive.
The session also had an insightful data about research publication from the American-German academic publishing company - Springer Nature. The team included Priya Vyas (Associate Editor), Kamiya Khattar (Associate Editor), Nupoor Singh (Editor).
They spoke about the importance of understanding in-depth research, logically linking your ideas and the power of abstract to create an impact on the audience about the research papers, ethics and peer-review process.
The session was a great learning experience and helped the students understand the trends, opportunities, skills, and methodologies in the field of research, writing and publishing.
