PRAYAGRAJ: All India president of Akhil Bhartiya

Akhara

Parishad (ABAP), Mahant Narendra Giri, has condemned the comments of

Nepal

PM KP Sharma Oli over the birthplace of Lord Ram.
In a statement, Giri has said that ABAP, the apex body of saints in the country, strongly opposes Oli's statement in which he claims that the real

Ayodhya

is in Nepal.
Giri said, “Ayodhya is in India and in

Uttar Pradesh

, we also have evidence about this and Nepal is just playing in China's hands and is making false statements against India”.
“Today the whole country is opposing this statement of Oli and he is taking his country towards destruction”, said Giri.
He also added that India and Nepal are friendly nations, but the PM of Nepal is trying to spoil relations by coming under the influence of China.
Giri has appealed to the leaders of all political parties in the country to unite and strongly oppose the statement of Oli and also force him to apologize to India for this false statement.
The ABAP president has also demanded that PM Modi too should strongly oppose this statement of the Nepalese PM so that he is forced to apologise.
“Oli has no right to continue in the Prime Minister's post and the citizens of Nepal should force him to leave PM’s office immediately”.
In an upcoming meeting of the Akhara parishad, the sage fraternity will discuss this issue and will also register their strong opposition, Giri said.
Meanwhile, Kanak Mani Dixit, a senior writer of the neighbouring country has tweeted, “It was folly for PM Oli to wade in and raise controversy on the placement of Ayodhya, home of the mythological Lord Ram. This creates a schism with a section of India's population when earlier it was only with the Indian Government”.
