Earlier today, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead in his Bandra residence in Mumbai. The cause of Rajput's death is reported to be suicide, and is in the process of being investigated by Mumbai Police.
Last seen in the 2019 comedy-drama Chhichhore alongside Shraddha Kapoor, the actor made his debut to Bollywood in 2013 in the sports drama Kai Po Che, which catapulted him into the spotlight. Over the years, the actor went on to deliver several performances for the silver screen including those in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, PK and Kedarnath. Before his career in Bollywood, Rajput was renowned for his work as a television star, having made his acting breakthrough with the TV series Pavitra Rishta.
Last week, Rajput's former manager and PR executive Disha Salian, was also found dead after falling from her high rise apartment—police are still looking into whether it's a case of suicide or accidental death.
Since the actor's demise, several prominent figures including Bollywood stars Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez, cricketer Virat Kohli, and PM Narendra Modi have taken to Twitter and Instagram to express their condolences.
