Four activists of Hindu Jagran Manch, including the outfit’s youth wing district president, were arrested for waving saffron flags on the Taj Mahal premises on Monday. A couple of videos of the incident went viral on social media platforms, reports Anuja Jaiswal.
In the purported videos of 15 seconds and 23 seconds, the activists — identified as HJM youth wing district president Gaurav Talwar, Rishi Lavania, Sonu Baghel and Vishesh Kumar — can be seen waving saffron flags on the Taj premises.
SSP Babloo Kumar told TOI that all the four activists were booked under section 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion) of the IPC and appropriate section of the Criminal Law Amendment Act at Tajganj police station, following a complaint lodged by the Central Industrial Security Force. When contacted, CISF commandant (Taj Mahal) Rahul Yadav said the activists bought tickets from the counter and “intentionally waved flags on the Taj premises in an apparent bid to gain popularity and increase their followers on YouTube.
